The rapper is facing a major lawsuit.
TMZ reports that Nelly (real name Cornell Haynes Jr.) has been sued by the woman who previously accused him of rape. The woman, identified as Monique Greene, is suing for sexual assault and defamation.
After initially being uncooperative with prosecutors, Greene now wants to sue the Country Grammar rapper.
According to court docs obtained by the gossip rag, the alleged incident occurred on the morning of October 7 after Nelly’s Seattle concert. Court documents obtained by TMZ say Greene was drinking with Nelly and his entourage before getting into an SUV with him.
After being taken to his tour bus, which was parked in a Walmart parking lot, she allegedly sat on Nelly’s bed and he started masturbating. Despite Greene’s efforts to stop him, he then had sex with Greene against her will both orally and vaginally.
Greene claimed she tried to dissuade him by saying he needed to wear a condom, but he refused and continued assaulting her.
Afterward, when the alleged incident was over, Greene said she yelled that she wanted off the bus. A member from Nelly’s crew then reportedly pushed her off the tour bus, and, she said, Nelly threw a $100 bill at her before saying, “Bye bye.”
Greene said she then called for an Uber, and while waiting Nelly taunted her from the bus as she stood in the parking lot.
She called 911, when the authorities arrived, they reportedly interviewed Greene before arresting Nelly for 2nd rape. Greene was then transported to a medical center for treatment, where she completed a rape kit.
Greene is also suing for defamation, claiming after his arrest Nelly and his team began a smear campaign saying she was only after “money, fame and notoriety.”
As first reported by TMZ … prosecutors dropped the criminal case against Nelly when Greene refused to testify. In her lawsuit, she says she felt she couldn’t “stand up against a celebrity and that the criminal system would fail her.”
For his part, Nelly has said he intends to sue Greene to restore his reputation.
