You’ve most probably heard of Rocko’s recent $10 million lawsuit against Future. TMZ reported the former has filed a lawsuit which claims Future signed a 6 album deal with him in 2011. He says that Future’s EPIC deal was just for distribution, but Future also cut a “side deal” with the label, which gave him huge advances that Rocko was cut out of.
Questionable news outlets reported both settled the lawsuit in the matter of a few days, as rumors circulated that the two had settled their lawsuit and Future was going to give Rocko all of the royalties from his next two albums, which would presumably be FUTURE and the upcoming HNDRXX. Future actually laughed off the whole situation and denied the settlement in a recent Twitter Q&A.
“When niggas go broke, they do dumb shit,” he said when asked about the Rocko situation. “I don’t know what’s going on. At the end of the day, we making hits, we making history. If a nigga wanna be a part of history, you gotta do something to tag along. That’s what it is, a tag along nigga.”
Rocko would later share a response on Instagram, suggesting that he was forced to sue Future because the rapper told him to “let the lawyers handle it.” “All I want is my percentage we agreed upon, nothing more nothing less,” he wrote. “I understand he feels a way hell I would too if I was sued. I’m not mad at him for being mad at me. If it’s ever a time when he wants to sit down like a man I’m wit it!” He also argued that when he posts pre-orders to Future’s albums, it’s not for his potential benefit (at the time being, he’s not actually making anything from Future’s sales), but out of “genuine support.”
For his part, Future returned to social media and called out Rocko again. According to The Shade Room, Fewtch called Rocko a “con artist” and says that the man he once considered a brother will get what’s coming to him, and we don’t think he means money.
“U post it cause I’m the shit nigga… on gang tho! U gon die fake nigga,” Future clapped back in Rocko’s comment section. “U embraced me as a brother at my worst & try to play me! Ain talk to u in years nigga! Ain’t no nigga on earth gone take shit with consequences, judge or no judge nigga! U a con artist.”
