Rap history acknowledges Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger and Kurupt as the only Crip-affiliated acts on Suge Knight’s Piru Blood-affiliated Death Row Records, but in a recent Instagram post, Daz claims Tupac Shakur—the label’s biggest and most successful artist before his untimely death in 1996—was down with the set as well.
Daz took to Instagram to reveal that Tupac hadn’t always been rolling with the Blood gang members.
“Before Tupac was on Death Row & cursed by Suge he was Crippin with Thug Life. I told him the night we did the 5 songs for @alleyezmovie The Album I said Pac don’t let this ganging come between us AKA Death Row VS Doggpund TruFacts,” said Daz.
The legendary rapper, who is set to be inducted in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, joined Suge Knight’s — a known Blood — music label shortly before his death. It was with Death Row Records that he released the classic All Eyez On Me. A biopic of the same name is due out this summer. Meanwhile, Knight is in jail awaiting trial for a murder in Compton.
